How we began
The whole thing started when Todd and his wife bought a 1966 Aladdin trailer and wanted a little more capability out of it—some extra power, a composting toilet, and a setup that made camping easier. That led to experimenting, learning, and eventually installing a more complete system on their first motorhome a few years later.
By the third full redesign, it was clear this wasn't just a side project anymore. The work itself was the part Todd enjoyed most, and RV Solar Installs was born.
Since then, Todd has built systems for all kinds of rigs, shaping each installation around individual layouts, wiring paths, and what owners actually want to run. His goal has always been to build quality systems that make sense to clients when they're on the road.
How we work
We're up-front about what solar can handle and where it has limits. It's better to understand tradeoffs early than fight with a system later.
"A good solar setup isn't about chasing big numbers. It's about building something that feels natural to use and easy to look after."
When your install is finished, you'll know what your system does, how it charges, and what to expect on longer trips or cloudy stretches. If something feels off down the road, you can reach out and get help from the person who built it.
